We’ve always aimed to make music that moves, but with Out of Place, we were chasing a feeling. That sense you get when you’re untethered. A little lost. A little lit up. And then, unexpectedly, someone shows up and, just like that, it all makes sense.
The Heart of It All: Lyrics from a Real Place
This one didn’t start with a beat or a drop. It began with a question: What happens when you forget how to dream? When dancing through life becomes autopilot?
“i’d forgotten to dream / i’d forgotten to dance”
That lyric survived three million rewrites. Not because it was poetic, it was us. This song was us scraping away the armor and returning to what matters.
And then there’s the chorus:
“come with me to another space / where dreams of love aren’t out of place”
It resonates because it’s real. It’s a quiet invitation, not just from us, but from every one of us to each other.
Sonics That Let You Breathe
We settled on 124 BPM in F major for a reason. We wanted movement, but not anxiety. We wanted warmth, but not sappiness. Something you could float in or dance within.
There’s melody, there’s air, there’s restraint. Melodic hooks that don’t shove themselves down your throat. Percussion that keeps things grounded. Everything layered with purpose.
If at any point you closed your eyes and felt a little more yourself, mission accomplished.
A Word from p.m.warner
“I wrote the core melody one late night, just me and a coffee. When the lyric ‘out of place’ landed, it felt like stepping into a mirror. The production followed that feeling, letting it breathe and glow rather than beat you over the head. It’s an invitation to feel safe even when the world’s in flux.”
— p.m.warner, composer & producer
A Place for Hope (No, Seriously)
We titled it Out of Place because that’s where most of us live emotionally. We’re not here to hand out instructions we just want to share our map.
“did you know there’s another space / where our dreams of love aren’t out of place”
That’s not filler, it’s the point of this whole damn thing.
Final Thoughts, from Us to You
This track isn’t about escape. It’s about arrival. About being seen. About letting go of voices that said your dreams were too weird or too young.
We hope Out of Place gives you what it gave us: a space to breathe, to feel, to move like the truest version of yourself.
Thanks for letting us in. We never take that lightly.
– Sunset Sky (with special mention to p.m., who insisted on sneaking in a coffee reference)
Out of Place Lyrics:
dreams
you open my eyes
i have no regrets
i can’t believe we’re here
or even what comes next
i opened my eyes
i have no regrets
i’d forgotten to dream
i’d forgetten to dance
so really am i lost is
this another chance
please take my hand
and don’t let go
show me all the places
i need to know
come with me to another space
where our dreams dont seem so out of place
did you know there’s another place
where our dream of hope aren’t from outer space
when im doubt
every other day
i feel im without
any other way
come with me to another space
where our dreams dont’ seem so out of place
did you know there’s another space
where our dreams of love aren’t out of place
come with me to another space
where dreams of hope aren’t out of place
open my eyes
take a depp breath
sometimees it’s hard to trust the mystery
of what comes next
