Burn It Down Lyrics

have you ever wanted to throw it away

ever wanted to start again

your life’s on fire and you’re watching it burn

light the fuse and let them all take turns

want to stay up all night

stare into the morning light

see something new

forget last night and wake up with you

want to burn it all to the ground x3

want to burn it all fucking down

never want to ever let it go

want to let all my real pain show

never go quiet into the night

never go down without a fight

want to light a fucking virgin flame

start an unpolluted game

don’t you ever want an untarnished start

it’s not too late until the last beat of your heart

want to burn it all to the ground x3

want to burn it all fucking down

never too late

its never too late

it’s never fucking too late to dream

no matter how loud the voices seem

time to get up and fucking go

Without Me: Heartbreak and Liberation

without me sunset sky

“Without Me” is a dance pop track unfolding through the highs and lows of a relationship. The song paints a picture of a search, an unspoken hope, and the bittersweet realization that some paths inevitably drift apart. Released on Spotify November 24.

Bandcamp

Another one that came together quickly. I’ve found a groove on creation and production but will probably need to reset soon. Concerned about using or remixing a lot of the same ideas. But, I am enjoying the creation part and I think the productions are getting stronger. So maybe just be ok with where I’m at and allow things to land where they need to land. I overthink, and really it’s all about making music i like and hopefully you enjoy as well. So, please enjoy, and read on for more on Without Me.

Introduction:

“Without Me” is set in the key of A major with a BPM of 122. Through its evocative lyrics, the song navigates waters of heartbreak, self-discovery, and bittersweet liberation that comes with letting go.

Verse 1: Seeking in Silence

The opening verses invite us to embark on self-discovery, urging us to “look high” and “look low” in search of that elusive something. The narrator acknowledges the existence of what they seek, a sentiment shared by many who have grappled with the intangible nature of their desires. The lyrics paint a picture of hope, concealed tears, and the struggle to release what was once tightly held.

Chorus: The Painful Liberation

“I’ve got to set you free, hurts more than you can conceive,” resonates in the chorus, echoing the universal truth that sometimes, liberating oneself and others from the bonds of a relationship is a painful necessity. The lyrics suggest the emotional toll of this process, emphasizing the difficulty in charting new courses when strong currents threaten to pull hearts apart.

Verse 2: Navigating the Unknown

As the song progresses, the uncertainty of life’s paths becomes a focal point. The juxtaposition of feeling “high” and “low” underscores the unpredictable nature of the journey. The narrator acknowledges their presence in the current moment, attempting to let go while grappling with the numbness that follows a profound loss.

Bridge: A Smile through Tears

The bridge introduces a poignant contradiction as the narrator smiles through tears, a powerful metaphor for the facade of strength that often accompanies heartbreak. The acknowledgment that it “still isn’t real” highlights the surreal and disorienting experience of coming to terms with the end of a significant chapter in life.

Chorus (Reprise): Embracing Freedom

The reprise of the chorus reinforces the theme of liberation, with the narrator asserting, “I know I’ll set you free, it hurts more than you can believe.” The acknowledgment of pain, both for oneself and the other, is a testament to the depth of emotions explored in the song.

Conclusion: Echoes of Absence

As “Without Me” draws to a close, the repetition of the phrase “without me” becomes a lingering echo of absence. The song captures the heartbreak, the struggle to move forward, and the eventual acceptance of a new reality. Through its melodic journey, “Without Me” offers solace to those who have experienced the complexity of love and loss, reminding us that healing often begins with letting go.

i know

just never shown its hand before

i can’t

now pretend it doesn’t feel like hell

i’ve got to set you free

hurts more than You can conceive

look for another shore to chart

just trying to let you go

you’re gone

i’m numb

i’ll keep pretending it still isn’t real

oh without you, I’m set free

it hurts more than I want to believe

losing a big piece of myself

i’m starting to run on empty scenes

Waiting on a Friend – Sunset Sky

As of yesterday, this was literally a few chords in the Logic folder and i desperately needed music therapy. So Saturday morning, chords, Sunday evening, track. is it perfect? not a chance. did i want to try and ship simething i put together at a feverish pace? yes. did i learn a ton, and not over think it? yes. is that a win? absolutely. Is it from the heart and you can hear mistakes? again, yes. But it’s raw and fresh and that’s what I love about this one. I hope you do too.

About Waiting on a Friend

In a world where we all face moments of solitude and uncertainty, “Waiting on a Friend” emerges as a compelling dance-pop song that resonates with anyone who has ever felt lost and in need of a lifeline. The repetition of these feelings underscores the universal experience of being pushed to the edge.

2. The Emotion of Loneliness

The lyrics, “Sometimes we’re alone, and it’s not okay. Doesn’t feel so right when you’re pushed this way,” highlight the idea that friendship can be the antidote to loneliness and despair.

4. More Than a Feeling

The song’s chorus, “It’s more than a feeling, and I’m at the end. Don’t know if I can hold on, waiting on a friend,” underscores the idea that the need for connection goes beyond just a feeling – it’s a fundamental human need. The uncertainty of whether or not you can hold on until that friend arrives speaks to the desperation that can accompany loneliness.

5. Rediscovering Trust

As the song progresses, it touches on the process of rebuilding trust and finding hope again. The lines, “then I remember all the times with you, begin to trust again, maybe good is true,” highlight the transformative power of friendship and the ability to mend even the deepest wounds.

maybe good is true

sometimes we’re alone

“By Now” – Dance Track of Beautiful Chaos

By Now - Sunset Sky

“By Now” is a pulsating, high-energy dance track that races along at 128 BPM, and it’s impossible not to move to its infectious rhythm. By Now – Sunset Sky

Interesting, or not so interesting observation. When i am in a good place the songs become more melancholy. When things are not so great, i take great solace in dance music. I think i needed something uptempo, but still with the Sunset Sky introspection. Too messed up to ever give that up haha Music is therapy and here’s to everyone else who’s going through it. Cheers – this one’s for you.

Now back to our regularly scheduled promotional programming (:

Lyrics that Speak to the Soul

The lyrics of “By Now” are a blend of energetic beats and reflective self-awareness. The song opens with the lines:

Trying to make things right, don’t overthink it was all you said

You know I don’t do so well; I’ve been all up in my head

This sets the tone for the entire track, as the protagonist grapples with the dichotomy of trying to find their place in the world while being their own harshest critic.

You think I’d have it figured out by now But I don’t

The right-out-of-the-gate antemic chorus should resonate deeply with anyone who’s ever felt that societal expectations don’t quite match their own personal journey. The song’s refrain is a potent reminder that it’s okay not to have it all figured out, no matter how much pressure you might feel from the outside world.

Energetic Yet Thoughtful

“By Now” is crafted to be a paradox, seamlessly combining high-energy dance beats with the contemplative lyrics that urge you to embrace your own imperfections and uncertainties. The catchy chorus, while maintaining an upbeat tempo, underscores the struggle to find one’s way:

You think I’d have it figured out by now But I don’t

As the song progresses, it delves deeper into the protagonist’s inner turmoil, encapsulating the chaos -and hopefully beauty- of life’s unpredictability:

Been through this a million ways, get nervous every time you see

What is it about these thoughts, take hold every time I think

This is where the dance elements and the introspective lyrics come together seamlessly. The dynamic instrumental arrangements create a mesmerizing atmosphere, perfect for losing yourself on the dance floor while contemplating life’s twists and turns.

An Unexpected Bridge

The song takes an unexpected turn in the bridge, showcasing a humorous take with the lines:

You think I’d have it figured out by now (laughs, talks)

This playful moment reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously, even in the midst of life’s complexity.

“By Now” ultimately ends on a triumphant note, reinforcing the idea that it’s okay to be a work in progress. Life is a journey, and it’s perfectly fine not to have all the answers yet.

In Conclusion

“By Now” is more than just a dance track; it’s a musical embodiment of the ebbs and flows of life’s challenges and triumphs. With its energetic tempo, reflective lyrics, and unexpected twists, this song is a must-listen for anyone who’s ever questioned where they are on their journey. So, if you’re ready to embrace the chaos, dance through the uncertainty, and let go of the need to have it all “figured out,” “By Now” is the anthem you’ve been waiting for. Give it a listen, and join the dancefloor as you celebrate the beautiful mess that is life.

let me be: Searching for Authenticity

let me be sunset sky

“let me be” is a dance-pop track capturing the essence of authenticity, vulnerability, and the longing to be your true self. With thoughtful lyrics and a danceable beat, it’s a song of introspection and self-discovery. Spotify release is Nov 3.

Bandcamp

let me be by Sunset Sky

This one felt good. From a technical perspective reigning in the high end was a necessity and finding the right balance for the chorus was challenging. Ultimately, it’s far from perfect but shipped it anyway because there’s additional tracks to refocus on. I hope you enjoy.

More on “let me be”: Authenticity in a World of Pretense

The opening lines of the song, “I’m not someone who fakes it, so why do you think I can? What you see is what you get; this is who I really am,” set the stage for the exploration of authenticity. Pretense and façades often mask our true selves. This is a defiant declaration of selfhood. And conveys a yearning for genuine connections and aversion to superficiality. We’re tired of playing a part and wish to be seen and accepted for who we truly are.

Navigating the Phases of Life

The song continues by reflecting on the phases in life when we’ve felt compelled to pretend. We’ve all been there, right? Those times when we wore masks to fit in, conform to societal expectations, or protect ourselves. The lyrics, “I’ve been through all the phases where I thought I had to pretend,” speak to a personal journey through these phases. It’s a reminder that growth often involves shedding those layers of inauthenticity to embrace our true selves.

Seeking a Safe Harbor

We all yearn for a place of respite and refuge from the tumultuous times, a sanctuary where you can simply “rest.” This “safe harbor from the sea” signifies the desire for a space where you can be your authentic self without judgment or criticism.

The Pain of Misunderstanding

The bridge of the song delves into the pain of being misunderstood. “I shouldn’t have to tell you we are all in pain, but you can make it better by hurting me again and again,” speaks volumes about the paradox of human relationships. The need for empathy and understanding is juxtaposed with the experience of being hurt repeatedly by those who should know better. It’s a poignant reminder of the power we hold to either heal or harm one another.

The Plea for Guidance

As the song reaches its climax, the lyrics turn to a plea for intervention. “Please god, let me be; guide me to your light now,” is a prayer for guidance, for a beacon of hope and clarity in the midst of life’s chaos. A yearning for a sense of purpose and direction.

The Lighthouse Amidst the Raging Sea

The metaphor of a lighthouse amidst a raging sea represents the idea that even in the most turbulent times, there is a guiding light, a source of hope, and a path to salvation. It’s a message of hope that, in our quest for authenticity, we can find our way to a better, truer version of ourselves.

“let me be” serves as not only a dance track; it also wants to go deeper and explore the human condition, make a plea for authenticity, understanding and empathy. It should resonate with those of us who’ve ever felt the need to declare, “Let me be,” and find our way to our own safe space in this vast and sometimes tumultuous sea, inviting us to dance, reflect, and embrace our true selves.

let me be Lyrics

More Than Love by Sunset Sky

This presented some interesting technical issues. I’ve given up on RMS for now, but from a standpoint of how it sounded on headphones versus studio speakers was concerning. Reeling in the bass with some comp and eq seems to have helped but i still fight a lot with with the high end of guitar (solution – no more guitars haha). I think the ending chorus needed that extra energy though and i didn’t want to dampen it too much. Pushed vocals front and center to the end until they give way to the final wall of sound. Hope you enjoy!

More Than Love: In depth

Dance pop doesn’t typically go deep, so in this blog post, we’ll dissect the lyrics behind this song, aiming to unveil some mystery.

An Elusive Essence

“Try to put my finger on it, but it remains elusive, what is it after all this time?”

The very first line of the song, “More Than Love” sets the tone for an introspective journey. The lyrics reflect the universal human experience of grappling with the indefinable essence of a complex emotion. This theme of ambiguity and yearning for clarity persists throughout the track.

The Seductive Web

“How do you draw me in, into this world of sin, must be out of my f*cking mind?”

In this stanza, the song delves into the irresistibly seductive allure of the unknown. The use of strong language adds a raw intensity to the lyrics, highlighting the intoxicating effect of the subject’s influence. It’s an unapologetic dive into temptation and desire.

The Waiting Game

“So what are we waiting for, push me down on the floor, stay here awhile and be with me.”

Here, the lyrics switch gears, conveying a sense of urgency and impatience. The protagonist’s longing for immediate connection is palpable, mirroring the restless energy of dance music itself. It’s a call to action, inviting the listener to surrender to the rhythm.

Love Beyond Boundaries

“Only have questions when you’re almost ready to send, say it’s not love but so much more.”

This enigmatic line hints at the idea that love transcends conventional boundaries. It challenges traditional definitions of love, suggesting that what’s shared is deeper and more profound. It’s a bold declaration that sets “More Than Love” apart from typical love songs.

Imperfection’s Beauty

“It’s not a perfect circle, it’s messy and out of place, we don’t belong in this world, wouldn’t have it any other way.”

These lines embrace imperfection, celebrating the unconventional and the messy aspects of love. The song’s refusal to conform to societal norms reinforces the idea that true love exists beyond the confines of perfection.

The Window to the Soul

“When I look in your eyes, I can only surmise that there’s still something I can’t see.”

This stanza provides a glimpse into the vulnerability of the protagonist. Even in the depths of connection, there remains an element of mystery, emphasizing the complexity and depth of the emotions at play.

Fantasy or Reality?

“Do we even care, pulling love out of air, or is it just a fantasy?”

The lyrics question the authenticity of the emotions experienced. Is it genuine connection or merely a fleeting fantasy? This ambiguity keeps the listener engaged, provoking contemplation about the nature of love and desire.

The Unique Rhythm of Life

“It’s not a perfect circle, it’s messy and out of place, we don’t belong to this world, wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Reiterating the theme of imperfection, these lines emphasize that the uniqueness love is what makes it special. It’s a celebration of individuality and authenticity.

Beyond Love

“You’ve got to know I’ll ship you, but it’s so much more than love, don’t even know where to place it if a push ever comes to shove.”

The lyrics culminate in a declaration that their connection defies categorization. It’s a sentiment that transcends the limitations of language and societal labels.

The Conclusion

“It’ll never be so simple that we’ll ever want to explain to anyone else outside us, push me down on that floor again.”

The song concludes by affirming love is a deeply personal and inexplicable experience, one that can never be fully articulated to outsiders. The urge to return to the dance floor represents a desire to continue exploring this enigmatic love.

In “More Than Love,” the fusion of intricate lyrics and pulsating beats creates an immersive experience that challenges conventional norms and invites listeners to ponder the complexities of human connection. It’s a testament to the power of music to convey emotions that often elude words, making it a true gem in the dance pop genre. So, if you haven’t already, dive into the world of “More Than Love” and let its mysteries wash over you.

Lyrics:

but it remains elusive

what is it after all this time

how do you draw me in

into this world of sin

must be out of my fucking mind

so what are we waiting for

push me down on the floor

stay here awhile and be with me

only have questions when

you’re almost ready to send

say its not love but so much more

it’s not a perfect circle

it’s messy and out of place

we don’t belong in this world

wouldn’t have it any other way

when i look in your eyes

i can only surmise

that theres still something

i can’t see

do we even care

pulling love out of air

or is it just a fantasy

it’s not a perfect circle

it’s messy and out of place

we don’t belong to this world

wouldn’t have it any other way

you’ve got to know i’ll ship you

if a push ever comes to shove

it’ll never be so simple

after all it’s more than love

Sunset Sky – TILA

This song is dedicated to Linzy. It was her vision and idea. And it was literally off the top of her head. On an otherwise dull afternoon, she spun a story on the phone about an LA experience involving a visit to Cartier, Nobu and how it would have to happen on a more low-key Thursday afternoon because it wouldn’t be for the show or a flex. It would just be what you do. I was there. It played like a film in my head and it made me… wait for it… happy. As someone who battles depression and anxiety it was a moment that lifted me and really stuck. What’s more, we named our umbrella LLC Thursdays in LA. But that’s a whole other story.

So, love, love, loved putting this together based on that inspiration. I could not -nor ever will- shake the imagery or the phrase. And, on a deeper level it reminded me of the possibilities in life. The next morning the universe started sending elements and pieces to stitch together as a song. Started at over 7 minutes long. But don’t worry the edit is now down to 3:30 haha. Enjoy!

The lyrics immediately establish a sense of connection, as two individuals embark on an adventure together, ready to uncover the secrets of a bustling city.

The verse

Lyrics “What’s in your eyes now, where do we go, you’ve got direction, I need to know,” create an aura of anticipation and excitement. The two protagonists of the song are caught in a whirlwind of possibilities, swept up in the allure of LA’s vibrant culture.

As the song progresses, the lyrics vividly describe the scenery, showcasing the LA in all its glory. References to iconic locations like Rodeo and Mulholland Drive add depth to the narrative, making it feel like we’re right there, taking in the sights and sounds of the city.

The chorus

The chorus serves as the heartbeat of “Thursday in LA,” emphasizing the idea of living in the moment and relishing the unpredictability of the day. “Don’t know if I should guess at all you’re planning to say, ’cause you’re lost in the moment this Thursday in LA,” encapsulate the essence of seizing the day and letting go of inhibitions.

The song’s beat and pulsating rhythm, perfectly complement the lyrical storytelling. It’s impossible to resist the urge to move to the music as the chorus repeats, “Don’t know if I can guess at anything you’re gonna say, ’cause we’re lost in the moment this Thursday in LA.”

Welcome to LA

As “Thursday in LA” reaches its climax, a spoken bridge paints a vivid picture of a sun-drenched day filled with distractions and delights. The mention of Nobu, Santa Monica’s warm breeze, and a Cartier watch all contribute to the song’s luxurious, high-energy vibe.

Conclusion

In the end, “Thursday in LA” captures the magic of a spontaneous adventure in a city known for its glamour and allure. It’s a celebration of seizing the moment, getting lost in the rhythm of life, and embracing the exhilarating journey that unfolds. Can U Remember – Sunset Sky

This was a labor of love. Cliche yes, but accurate. This song tapped me on the shoulder, we wrestled. It would take me down, I would fight back, it would resort to a sleeper hold…. I could handle the unexpected moves… sometimes. But ultimately we seemed to be able to find a compromise. The universe is weird.

Honestly, being an artist is being vulnerable with strangers. There is a core that you feel compelled to drive towards, it is difficult and ultimately, if you get to the truth, rewarding. Whatever your medium, truth is hard. William S. Burroughs wrote, “Hustlers of the world, there is one mark you cannot beat: the mark inside.” good god I no longer want to be my own mark.

I hope you enjoy. I won’t bore you with loudness issues. It is what it is until the we get to the next level. Cheers.

Can U Remember: More about the track

The world often feels like a whirlwind of chaos, and the power of music to transport us to a place of optimism is undeniable. Sunset Sky’s latest dance-pop creation, “Can U Remember,” not only encapsulates the spirit of longing but also offers a vivid reminder that sometimes all we need is to remember moments and a possible future that make life worth living.

Opening with a bang

From the very first notes of the song, a wave of catchy upbeat melodies washes over the listener, instantly lifting their spirits and setting the stage for what is about to unfold. The track opens with an infectious rhythm that’s impossible not to tap your foot to. As synths merge with a pulsating bassline, it’s evident that “Can U Remember” is a track designed for listening and the dancefloor.

Wait a minute

But it’s not just the groove that captures attention; it’s also the lyrics that resonate. The song’s lyrical journey invites us to reflect on past experiences that might never have occurred, to ponder the paths not taken, and to embrace the beauty of imagination. The chorus, with its repetitive yet emotionally charged refrain of “Can you remember,” becomes a mantra for contemplating the potential of what could be.

The verses invite introspection, asking us to envision a world where we fulfill our desires, where we cherish the moments we’ve forgotten, and where we create memories that transcend reality. The line “Making future memories, we don’t need reality” encapsulates the escapist allure of the song, inviting us to let go of the mundane and step into the realm of possibility.

Coming together

Sunset Sky masterfully blends these lyrics with a driving musical arrangement that propels the song forward. Verse builds anticipation, leading to the explosive release of the chorus, where the magic happens. The layers of synths and electronic textures create a sonic landscape that envelops the listener in an atmosphere of euphoria, mirroring the exhilaration of remembering moments that were, never were, or, could be.

Vocally, Sunset Sky delivers a performance brimming with optimism and warmth. The vocals glide richly over the music, adding an ethereal dimension that complements the song’s forward-looking theme. The harmonies in the chorus give the song a sense of unity, as if the listeners themselves are joining in on the collective act of dreaming.

We’re in this together

As “Can U Remember” approaches its conclusion, the message becomes clear: embracing the power of imagination can lead us to create our own realities, to transcend the limitations of the present, and to find solace in the potential of what could be. The final repetition of “You’ll remember me tonight” is an empowering assertion that leaves the listener with a lingering sense of hope.

In a world that can often feel overwhelming and disheartening, “Can U Remember” by Sunset Sky arrives as a reminder that there is always room for optimism and the pursuit of dreams. With its infectious beats, heartfelt lyrics, and a message of hope, this dance-pop confection invites us all to take a moment to remember the joy that exists within our own imaginations. So go ahead, hit play, and let the music sweep you away into a world where the impossible seems possible, if only for the duration of a song.

Can U Remember Lyrics

can you remember

the times we never had

can you remember

all the things we never said

can you imagine

if we actually do what we want

tonight

can you remember

the times you actually smiled

can you remember

when it was sunny for awhile

can you remember

where you thought you wanted to be

tonight

can you remember

maybe it’s just fantasy

but possible that you and me

could be on top of the world tonight

you’ll remember me tonight

can you remember

when you threw your arms out wide

can you remember

when we actually felt alive

can you remember

when we’d stay up sharing ourselves all night

making future memories

we don’t need reality

no reason we shouldn’t be

you’ll remember me tonight

maybe it’s just fantasy

but possible that you and me

could be on top of the world

tonight

you’ll remember me tonight

funny things have happened to me

you’ve helped me realize we can dream

we can make it big

all right

you’ll remember me tonight

can you remember

then we can make it happen tonight

maybe it’s just fantasy

but possible that you and me

could be on top of the world

tonight

you’ll remember me tonight

Say Goodbye – Sunset Sky

omg – I am so tired of reading about loudness. Everyone has an opinion on how to optimize this for different platforms – and I have not cracked the code yet. At first it seems to be LUFS, but that’s out the window. Now it’s RMS and keeping that at a level that doesn’t make the track too quiet in parts and have dynamic range is – well something else.

You may be asking yourself, why in the f*** does this matter? Well, allow me to explain. (: Your ears perceive louder as better. Platforms like Spotify do something called normalizing which is supposed to even out the listening experience (except of course, when a commercial suddenly booms versus the song, show or podcast you’re listening to). So, when the tracks I produce go up against other professional tracks on Spotify, they sound weak, like the original mix, rather than a polished and at least competitively LOUD master.

Additional context: I can run RMS at the optimal -12 for good chunks of the track but with any dynamics – like a killer last chorus, there’s just no way. Is the option to just make the whole song loud and minimize dynamic range? More clipping? I’ve got Linear EQ, Compression, Saturation, Multipress a tiny bit of Spread on lock (I believe). And yes, I leave a little breathing space when mastering – doesn’t go all the way to 0db.

If anyone can truly help out with this, please get in touch. Everything out there contradicts each other. In the meantime, Soundcloud does not turn down the level, so you can listen to the master in all its original glory.

For a deep dive into the track. Read on. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy!

Say Goodbye – In Depth

“Say Goodbye” is a dance pop song that delves into the emotions of parting ways. The lyrics paint a picture of the struggle to let go, holding onto memories and secrets shared during a journey together. As the melody and beats intertwine, the song becomes an anthem of both nostalgia and acceptance, leaving a lasting impression.

Saying Goodbye in the Last Moments

The song opens with evocative lines, encapsulating the feelings of uncertainty in the final moments spent together. You are hanging on by a thread, the intensity of connection conveyed through a kiss.

Secrets of the Past

The lyrics unveil a shared history filled with moments they vowed to keep hidden from the world. Yet, some things are simply too irresistible to conceal.

Confronting an Unexpected End

“I never thought I’d see the day arrive, never thought I’d feel this way inside, never thought our journey would ever end, never thought I’d say goodbye.” These lines form the emotional core of the song, expressing the disbelief that their time together has reached its end.

Unforgettable Memories

As the chorus plays on, the memories of their time together play like a film in their minds, etching unforgettable images of love, laughter, and shared experiences.

Embracing Change and Moving On

Though saying goodbye is painful, the song hints at the need to embrace change and move forward. The journey may be over, but the experiences they shared will forever shape them.

Leaving the Film Behind

The metaphor of leaving a film behind underscores the desire to hold onto cherished memories while acknowledging the necessity of moving on.

The song conveys the unexpected twists and turns in their relationship, highlighting that they never foresaw reaching this point of saying goodbye.

Holding Onto the Spirit of a Loved One

Despite the farewell, the lyrics emphasize that some bonds are eternal, and the spirit of the loved one will continue to shine bright.

A Melody to Remember

The combination of soul-stirring melodies and captivating dance beats make “Say Goodbye” an unforgettable anthem of both heartache and hope.

“Say Goodbye” is more than just a dance pop song; it’s a captivating journey through the complexities of parting ways with someone deeply cherished. The heartfelt lyrics and resonant melody leave a lasting impression, reminding us that saying goodbye doesn’t mean forgetting the precious memories shared. This soul-stirring anthem will undoubtedly resonate with anyone who has experienced the bittersweet embrace of farewell.

Say Goodbye – Lyrics

in these last moments with you

i don’t know what to do

we’re holding on by a thread

and a kiss

every little thing we’ve done

we swore we’d never tell no one

but inside we both know we couldn’t resist

when you turn to face the sun

i never shared with anyone

all i have is secrets of our past

i don’t start by thinking of ends

but now that your message is sent

didn’t think we’d follow through with any of this

i never thought I’d see the day arrive

never thought I’d feel this way inside | never thought our journey would ever end | never thought i’d say goodbye

all these blurry scenes of you survive

they’ll always be playing in my mind

dancing in the warm rain through the night

—guess I’m leaving that film behind

So
say

goodbye

i never thought id see the day arrive

never thought id feel this way inside | never thought our journey would ever end | never thought i’d say goodbye

salty warm tears rolling down my face

hoping time stops in a moment of grace

nothing changes and we’re standing still

and i never

say goodbye

can’t ever describe the times with you

desert sun autumn rains we’ve been thru

your spirit shines and honestly

i can never ever say goodbye

often thought we’d always say good night

always thought id see you by my side

and now as you slowly walk away

never thought i’d say goodbye

in these last moments with you

i don’t know what to do

holding on by a thread

and a kiss

Volume Mixing: Unveiling the Secrets to a Flawless Mix

black and gray audio mixer

Volume mixing is one of the easiest ways to ensure your mix is working.

Understanding the Importance of Volume Mixing in Achieving a Balanced Mix

I’ve learned the hard way that volume and mixing can be tricky. I am not referring to loudness, which is an oft-debated topic, but the actual volume issues you can run into with different tracks in a recording.

Overcoming Common Volume Issues in Mixing: Bleeding, Distortion, and Muddiness

When I started out, I didn’t know how to keep instruments from bleeding into each other, getting distorted, muddy etc. What would sound great on headphones would sound terrible on a sound system. I couldn’t understand what was going wrong. It was frustrating.

The Impact of EQ and Compression on Proper Track Volume Management

Once you begin to understand EQ and to a different degree compression, those concerns become less of an issue, but it is still easy to not mix track volumes properly.

Because I was always turning up the volume as loud as possible to check for saturation, distortion, over compression or any other issue, I never thought to check the music when it was at its quietest.

The Power of Listening at Low Volumes: Unveiling Hidden Mix Flaws

And recently, I learned the ear thinks the louder you play music the better it sounds. Which may hurt your ability to hear mixing level issues.

The Louder, the Better? Debunking the Myth and Prioritizing Objective Listening

If you turn on a professional recording, you’ll notice that at ANY volume it sounds good. That’s why I now turn the volume down as far as possible to really hear how the mix is panning out.

From CringeFest to Masterpiece: Realizing the Importance of Listening at Different Volume Levels

Recently, after dropping a track to SoundCloud and distributing to Spotify. I thought the track sounded amazing. However, the song came on while I was at work, on headphones at a much lower level. It became CringeFest 2023 as I quickly realized I had made the hi-hat too prominent, and the vocals were buried in the verse. When I remixed, I made sure to listen at the lowest, medium and highest levels. Now it’s a vastly improved mix. Listen below:

First Mix (without volume mixing): Human Touch

Remix (with): Human Touch Remastered

Remember that your ears can fool you, that’s why I think this is a powerful trick and makes for more objective listening. Your mix isn’t right if it doesn’t sound good quiet. I often find that drums are overpowering vocals or that a rhythm part’s high end is too up front, but the point is, you have the mix right if it sounds good even when turned all the way down. Be sure to listen all the way though. You might be surprised by what you hear and learn.

Hope that helps. Will share more and thank you for visiting!
