So… this is honestly one of the best tracks I’ve created. It came from a simple idea and at one iteration, I was about to delete everything. But, I stuck with it. And the idea of that second chance getting thrown out there…. not so much a statement, but hanging out there, really becomes a question.

I made this for folks to enjoy. take what you want from it. I hope it was fun for you. And THANK YOU!

RoundandrounD Lyrics

know it seems like i wasn’t there

i know it seems like i didn’t care

only know what they all said

i only know this doesn’t feel like the end

its not the end of the story

its not the end of the dance

i wanted to be there for you

there’s always a second chance

round and round

if you know me there’s always hope implied

silly i know, it doesn’t match inside

like watching you with someone else

nothing more

nothing less

its not the end of the story

its not the end of the dance

i wanted to be there for you

isn’t there a second chance

round and round

About RoundandrounD

In “RoundandrounD,” Sunset Sky takes listeners on an emotional loop, exploring the twists and turns of life that didn’t quite work out but still holds hope. With plainspoken lyrics, the song connects instantly – it’s honest, vulnerable, and relatable. It doesn’t sugarcoat the feeling of watching someone move on, or deal with issues you don’t understand, much like watching them with a stranger, or the regret of not being there when it mattered. But at its core, “RoundandrounD” is about the chance for renewal.

The lyrics say it all: “It’s not the end of the story, it’s not the end of the dance.” There’s a sense of unfinished business, of something still left to give. The simple refrain of “round and round” echoes how relationships can circle back in unexpected ways, keeping listeners hanging on for just one more spin. Sunset Sky taps into that universal feeling of wanting a do-over – for things to work out better, for love to get a second chance.

Musically, the track is as moody and danceable as you’d expect from a band that brands itself with the unique genre “wheatfield dance.” There’s a subtle beat that builds anticipation, the kind you feel in your chest, pulling you into each verse as the story unfolds. It’s the perfect song for late-night drives, quiet moments of reflection, or, fittingly, a last dance.

“RoundandrounD” is one of those songs that captures what it’s like to be human – caught between past mistakes and future possibilities, holding onto hope even when it seems a little silly. Give it a listen, and maybe you’ll find a little bit of your own story in the lyrics.

Love Way by Sunset Sky

The way to “Love Way”

You know that feeling when you’re lost in thought, maybe driving down a long road or staring at the stars, and a song just clicks with everything you’re feeling? That’s exactly the kind of vibe Sunset Sky’s latest track, “Love Way,” delivers—only with a beat that’ll get you up and moving, too!

If you haven’t heard of Sunset Sky yet, let me introduce you. They call their sound “wheatfield dance,” and honestly, it fits perfectly. Imagine open skies, a warm breeze, and a little bit of moody reflection all wrapped up in a dance track. That’s “Love Way.”

What’s the song about?

The lyrics hit hard with some emotional depth. We’ve all had those moments when we’re feeling a mix of happiness, sadness, and maybe a little frustration (looking at you, relationships). “Love Way” tackles that head-on. From lines like, “I’ve never been so happy, I’ve never been so sad,” to “Perhaps I don’t want to know what’s lurking so deep below,” it’s the kind of song that makes you feel seen, while still a bop.

And let’s be real, it’s got the perfect chorus for those moments when you want to belt out the lyrics and let go of whatever’s been weighing on you. The vibe? Total late-night jam session material. Whether you’re driving home under the stars or need a track to wind down after a long day, “Love Way” is the soundtrack for all the feels.

Why should you care?

Sunset Sky is keeping it fresh with their unique sound—a blend of indie dance with a rural edge (that’s the wheatfield part, obviously). And even though it’s a bit moody, it never drags you down. Instead, it’s like they’re giving you permission to dance through your emotional rollercoaster. Plus, who doesn’t love a song that’s got layers?

So, if you’re looking for a track that’s both thoughtful and danceable, give “Love Way” a listen. And don’t be surprised if it becomes your new go-to when you need to process life, love, and everything in between…all while keeping moving forward.

Mirrors by Sunset Sky

How Do We Say Goodbye?

Goodbyes are never easy. They often leave us with more questions than answers, lingering in our minds like a haunting melody. “Mirrors,” our latest dance track, dives deep into the emotional complexity of farewells, capturing the conflicting feelings that come with letting go of someone significant.

At first listen, “Mirrors” might seem like a simple dance track, designed to get you moving on the dance floor. But beneath the pulsing beats and infectious rhythms lies a deeper narrative—one that many of us can relate to. The song’s lyrics are a poignant exploration of memory, truth, and the struggle to move on. It’s not just about saying goodbye; it’s about the lingering presence of that goodbye in our lives.

The chorus, with its repeated question, “How do I say goodbye to someone like you?” …

…is the emotional heart of the song. It’s a question that doesn’t have a straightforward answer, much like the experience of parting ways with someone who has been deeply intertwined with your life. Whether it’s a romantic relationship, a close friendship, or even a moment that has passed, the echoes of these goodbyes often remain with us, reflected in the “mirrors” of our minds.

One of the most compelling lines in the song is, “Minding the rearview mirror while driving away.” This imagery perfectly encapsulates the struggle of moving forward while still being tethered to the past. It’s about trying to live your truth in the present while being constantly reminded of what’s behind you. The rearview mirror is a powerful symbol in the song—a small reflection of what we’ve left behind, but one that we can’t help but glance at as we move forward.

“Mirrors” is not just about sadness or loss; it’s also about resilience. The danceable beat suggests that even as we struggle with these heavy emotions, we must keep moving. Life doesn’t stop for our goodbyes; it pushes us onward. This track is a testament to the human spirit’s ability to carry on, even when our hearts are weighed down by the past.

We hope that “Mirrors” resonates with you on multiple levels. It’s a song for those moments when you’re driving alone at night, replaying memories in your mind, but it’s also a track to lose yourself in on the dance floor, finding solace in the rhythm and the movement. In many ways, “Mirrors” reflects the duality of life—the dance between holding on and letting go.

So, as you listen to “Mirrors,” we invite you to reflect on your own experiences of saying goodbye. How do you navigate those moments of farewell? How do you balance the past with the present? And most importantly, how do you keep dancing through it all?

Mirrors Lyrics

mirrors

how do i say goodbye to somone like you…

so what if i did things right

it’s not how it seemed

i think i can understand

just not what i mean

well it’s um, better now

memories are a haze

but minding the rearview mirror

while driving away

how do i say goodbye

to someone like you

there’s more to that fateful day

i’m telling the truth

afternoon like we used to spend

and you caught my eye

pretty sure you may have turned your head

glasses reflect summer light

how do i say goodbye

to someone like you

can’t begin to stop living my life

or telling my truth

pushing back at all the memories today

but minding mirrors while driving away

how do i say goodbye

to someone like you

can’t begin to stop living my life

or telling my truth

how do i say goodbye

to someone like you

there’s more to that fateful day

im telling the truth

how do you say goodbye to someone like you?

This track flexes a few more production muscles. Annnnnd, exciting to me, bringing a song in under 2:30 (2:29 to be exact!) haha. Anyway you should go listen. It’s short, sweet, and if nothing else, a step further into that “wheatfield” style.

“Wheatfield?” you ask.

“Wheatfield.” I reply, in a warm, reassuring, & seemingly god-like tone.

Then I really lay it on.

“Those rolling hills i call home, carved from glaciers only 10,000 years ago and covered with life. Look over an endless field of wheat dancing in the wind! It’s free, wild and beautiful, it weaves and waves rhythmically and when the sunlight hits just right, you can hear the music.”

Silence (Awed, i’m sure)

Then,

“That, plus I literally make dance music in the middle of a wheat field.”

Profound, right?

Anyway, i like the idea of ‘wheatfield’ dance. it’s authentic, hopeful and straightforward. Just like the region.

Thank you for your support!

Until Now – Sunset Sky

Production continues to improve and this was one that after eight iterations I finally had to let go. It can be hard to send your creative out into the world. Picasso said something like work is never finished, only abandoned. I always hear something else that can be improved but it becomes time to move on and bring the next idea into being. It’s also a perfect parallel to life in the moment. There are plenty of positive changes but as a cynical optimist, as soon as I’m feeling happy, I begin waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Btw being happy is waaaaaay underrated, and for right now, that’s where I’m at. The music reflects this as #summervibes continue… Enjoy!

Until Now Lyrics

i put my face into the sunlight

like the day that you appeared

now poring over details of life

you were one that was always here

i never had

a chance with you

i never had

all my dreams come true

until now

you wanted to meet after midnight

please tell me that you’ll be there

we were only searching for life

for other lost souls out there

i never had

a chance with you

i never had

all my dreams come true

i never heard

the “i love you”

always said

it was misspent youth

until now

hold me closely

talk to me

we might need to hold on

can’t remember when we felt so free

until now

i never had

a chance with you

i never had

all my dreams come true

until now

i never heard

the “i love you”

always said

it was misspent youth

“Thus marked a decided turn in Sunset Sky’s self-inflicted stylings as a poet of woe. This, instead my friends, is a ray of sunshine forcing shade into the corners it belongs. It is… summer.” (I need you to read that in a gravelly professor voice, slight proper english accent)

Have you ever woke up after a night of whatever you were doing and realize you met someone exciting and new? And it was fun, out of control brilliant but also, (sad part) you might never see this person again. Like, ever. So imagine, if after the party’s over, things have settled down and you’re looking at the mess you’re going to have to clean up when…

…you get the text

You know the text. The one that reaffirms your existence, your entire being and the one that matters – at the moment – literally more than anything in the world. The one that makes you rise up to praise entities you regarded with suspicion until now, and declare to the universe, I belieeeeve!

have you had a moment like that?

would you want to experience it again?

Hell yes you would and now you can because that’s what this song is about. It’s a celebration. It’s summer vibes, its pure warm uplifting breezy, and also, “Its got a good beat and you can dance to it.” haha.

So I hope you enjoy this start-o-summer ditty and let me know if it strikes any chords. (:

i couldn’t believe it was you next to me

is this happening?

it’s in motion

or

its e-motion

think its in motion

last night we celebrated

magic & dreams

maybe next morning the spell’s not what it seems

love will tear us apart

plays quiet in jest

everything seemed hurried when i came back…

and you’d already left

oh god it was so good to hold you

this might just blur some lines

but i promise to be there for you

every single time

it’s in motion

or

its e-motion

think its in motion

woke up that morning

and feeling so free

 it was like living in

a movie scene

notification badge pops up on screen

and the text read:

hey i missed you

we should hang out

again

well i promise to love you forever

and I’ll always hold the line

and i know that i’ll always be

there for you

every single time

I always promise to make you happy

if only its to make things right

im not some hero when i tell you…

i’ll always be there to hold you tight

i guess i really was afraid of your answer

that’s why i’m sometimes

on my own

think too much and every once in a while

life decides you

shouldn’t be alone

well i promise that i’ll love you forever

and want to always hold you tight

and i know that  i’ll be there for you

every single god damn time

it’s in motion

hi. by Sunset Sky

This one felt like polishing a turd for a long time. And maybe it still is, but I ended up liking the results, but again, it took a looooong time.

Reverb is my enemy sometimes. It can add a nice ethereal layer to your tracks, or it can turn them into complete mud, like my early experiments trying to paint with oil. BTW, the cover is a section of a painting of mine – acrylic on paper, part of my broken/breaking series.

About hi.

Introducing “hi.” a new dance pop track that delves into the complexities of past relationships and the enduring power of memories. With its beat and standout lyrics, “hi.” invites listeners on a journey through nostalgia and reflection.

The song begins with a simple greeting, “hi, what’s your name? You look like someone that I know, memories flood again.” As the rhythm builds, we’re drawn into a conversation between two people who share a history, grappling with emotions that refuse to fade.

Remember Me?

“Hi, remember me? I thought I had buried our past, but emotions run deep,” the lyrics confess, echoing the experience of confronting unresolved feelings. Amidst the catchy melody, questions linger: Do moments of our past still remain? Is there anything that stays unchanged?

Before the chorus sweeps in, the refrain in the second verse “Hi, how are you?” serves as a poignant reminder of the passage of time. Yet, even as one voice admits, “I’m just okay,” there’s an underlying acceptance and resilience, a refusal to dwell in regret.

Memories Resurface

Throughout the song, memories resurface, vividly depicted in lines like “I remember calling out your name, choking it down, and it was all in vain.” The honesty in the lyrics captures the essence of reminiscence, acknowledging the pain of letting go while yearning for a chance to relive the past.

In the bridge, the melody soars as the singer grapples with the reality of closure, recognizing that some doors once opened can never fully close. Yet, amidst the uncertainty, there’s a sense of empowerment, a declaration that the past may linger, but it will never define the future.

So, What is It All About?

With its irresistible blend of pulsating beats and heartfelt lyrics, “hi.” is more than just a dance floor anthem; it’s a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring power of connection. So, let the music sweep you away as you embrace the past, the present, and the promise of what lies ahead.

Lyrics for hi.

hi

what’s your name

u look like someone that i know memories flood again

hi

remember me

i thought i had buried our past but emotions run deep

do moments of our past still remain

is there anything that stays unchanged

hi

how are you

you’re letting me know that you’re well and that you’re on the move

hi

i’m just ok

honestly dont regret falling in love anyway

(i remeber calling out your name

choking it down and it was all in vain

its hard to swallow memories remain

i only know that the past will never change)

all that time with you was really so insane

i only wish we could live it all again

it seems so hard when i remember that it’s over

do moments of our past still remain

is there anything that stays unchanged

i remember calling out your name

echoes bouncing off the ceiling once again

choke it down and try to swallow in vain

but i assure you that the past will never change

found myself at night calling out your name

not a dream and i know it sounds insane

when i wake up and couldn’t remember it’s over

i’m aware that we’ve opened up a door

we’ll never know if there was anything or more

only one way to ensure that its really over

i really don’t know now just how i should feel

when you say we’re out of time and it’s no longer real

but im assuring you the past is never over

Hold on Tight – Diving In

So, dance pop stands out as a genre that blends infectious melodies with relatable lyrics, creating an addictive listening experience. “Hold on Tight” captures the essence of contemporary pop while delving into emotion.

As a result, beats pulsate with energy and lyrics resonate with authenticity. “I’ve got to tell you, been thinking about you all day long,” sets the stage for a narrative of longing. Yearning to connect with someone special but grappling with uncertainty about where to begin.

A Journey of Heartache and Hope

As the song progresses, the intensity builds, fueled by: “You’ve got a stranglehold on me, can’t lie about it. I need you in every possible way.” These words encapsulate the almost grip of love, and the vulnerability that comes with opening one’s heart to another.

But amidst the whirlwind of emotions, there’s a sense of reassurance in the plea to “hold me closely, hold me tight.” It’s a reminder that even in moments of doubt, there’s solace to be found in the embrace of a loved one.

Moving On

Then, second verse of the song serves as a poignant reflection on the challenges of communication in matters of the heart. “Easy to speak, not easy to feel,” acknowledges the disparity between words and emotions.

Yet, in the uncertainty, there’s a glimmer of hope. “I’ll hold you closely if you hold us right, please hold me closely, well hold on tight,” encapsulates the essence of resilience and determination in the face of adversity. It’s a testament to the power of love to overcome obstacles and endure through trials of life.

Here We Go

“Hold on Tight” serves to remind us of the beauty and complexity of human connection, where emotions run deep, love knows no bounds amid highs and lows.

So, as you go back about your day, remember to hold on tight to the ones you love, for in their embrace, you’ll find solace, strength, and the courage to face whatever challenges may come your way.

And, the End

Let the track’s pulsating beats and lyrics wash over you and remember to hold on tight to the ones who matter most.

Go On: Encouragment and Perseverance

It’s easy to slip into routine and complacency, but there comes a time when discontent grows too loud to ignore. “Go On” a track of self-realization and renewal, encourages you to break free from conformity and embrace the authenticity of existence.

With the opening chords we’re drawn into a narrative of introspection and defiance. Once content to sleepwalk through life, now at a crossroads, grappling with the realization that existence has been built upon a foundation of falsehoods and pretense. Yet, amidst the turmoil of awakening, there’s a glimmer of hope—a sense of liberation that comes with shedding layers of deception and embracing the truth, no matter how harsh it may be.

“It was kind of nice for a while To sleepwalk through life Enter a world of fake smiles Then come home late at night”

These opening lines set the stage for a journey of self-discovery and resilience.

We acknowledge the allure of illusion, the comfort of conformity, but ultimately we need confront the futility of living a life built upon lies. It’s a sentiment that resonates deeply with anyone who’s ever felt trapped within the confines of societal expectations, yearning for something more but unsure of where to begin.

Yet, as the chorus erupts with defiant determination, a newfound sense of empowerment emerges:

“Well I go on It feels so good right now I’m finally free There’s nothing holding me back Except for me”

Here, amidst the driving rhythm and vocals, lies the heart of “Go On.”

It’s a rallying cry for those who refuse to be confined by the expectations of others, who dare to challenge the status quo and carve their own path forward. It’s a reminder that true freedom comes not from external circumstances, but from the courage to confront our inner demons and embrace the fullness our humanity.

Throughout the song, there’s a sense of catharsis—a release of pent-up emotions and a shedding of old skin. Acknowledging the losses incurred along the way, the friendships strained or severed in the pursuit of truth. Yet, amidst the wreckage, there’s a sense of gratitude for those who’ve played a role in their awakening:

“Thank you for waking me I can’t say enough It’s time to fight again The real world—can get rough”

These words serve as a testament to the transformative power of adversity, the crucible through which resilience is forged and character is tested. It’s a recognition that true growth often arises from the ashes of our past selves, as we emerge stronger, wiser, and more determined than ever before.

As the song draws to a close, there’s a sense of closure—a final reckoning with the ghosts of the past and a bold declaration of newfound purpose:

“I was going through the motions I finally know it now Brushing off the dust from my jacket Turn my back on what I’ve known”

In these lines, we find the essence of “Go On”—a testament to the power of self-awareness and the courage to embrace change. It’s a reminder that even in our darkest moments, there lies the seed of transformation, waiting to be nurtured and cultivated into something beautiful.

In the end, “Go On” represents hope for anyone who’s ever felt lost or disillusioned, a reminder that no matter how bleak the circumstances may seem, there’s always a light waiting to guide us home. So let us heed its call, embrace our awakening, and step boldly into the unknown, for it’s only in the journey of self-discovery that we truly find ourselves.

Go On Lyrics

130 BPM | C Major

it was kind of nice for a while

to sleepwalk through life

enter a world of fake smiles

then come home late at night

i’ve got to be honest here

it was ok for a time

but how long can you go on

living all those fucking lies

well i go on

it feels so good right now

i’m finally free

there’s nothing holding me back

except for me

it felt so predictable, its the end of the line

i’m getting outside

breaking out of a kind of hell

that was never mine

i think it ended well

thank you for waking me

i cant say enough

its time to fight again

the real world — can get rough

well i go on

i lost good people along the way

but here i stand

scraping off the shit ive stepped in

i hope you understand

life goes on

thank you for waking me

i cant say enough

its time to fight again

the real world — can get rough

was asleep half the time

and now im awake

a pleasant afterthought

to ignoring all the pain

i was going thru the motions

i finally know it now

brushing off the dust from my jacket

turn my back on what i’ve known

thank you for waking me

i cant say enough
